At last construction of our new school has begun.
First announced over ten years ago and given the green light on May 2014 by Minister For Public Expenditure, Brendan Howlin, the new school will now begin its rise form the ground.
We will watch with interest for the next twelve months as our new home takes shape.
JCSP Make a Book Exhibition
Great fun was had by all last Friday when group of first and second year students visited the JCSP Make a Book Exhibition at the City Hall Cork.
We were delighted to showcase our contribution ‘Imagine If…’ to this nationwide exhibition of creative work. Students had the opportunity to let their imaginations run riot and compose an article about what might be, entitled ‘Imagine If’ …..?
To help illustrate their imaginative written word they also produced an inspired piece of art affectionately nicknamed ‘Christy’!
Having proudly inspected their exhibit, the group then had an opportunity to lunch and shop in Merchants Quay Shopping Centre and Patrick Street, Cork before returning to Adamstown elated from the entire experience and brimming with ideas for the Make a Book 2015!
We are proud to present Juno And The Paycock in St Abban's Hall on Wednesday Jan 29 and Thursday Jan 30. The all-student cast has worked hard with director Paul Walsh to show this Irish classic from Sean O'Casey.
This term the whole school community will focus on homework. Students will be encouraged put a special effort into homework and their progress will be monitored each week. We invite all students to meet this challenge and to "up their game" as the end-of-year exams approach. We encourage parents and guardians to take an active interest in how their sons and daughters are performing and to check their progress each week of the challenge.
The Homework Challenge was formally launched by special guests Waterford Hurling All-Star, John Mullane, and Enniscorthy Rugby Club's Provincial Towns Cup winners Ross Barbour and David Shore. They spoke about how they have succeeded in their sports, how they trained hard and never gave up and even when the going got tough.
Posters are on display around the school as constant reminders and an award ceremony will be held each week for those students who have full attendance and all homework tasks complete.
