Library News

Our Library was reopened in 2012.

It has been extensively remodelled and is now a quiet haven where students can experience the joy of reading. We have a large range of books to choose from as well as magazines and newspapers. New soft furnishing has been installed and it is now a very enjoyable space in the school.

It is open every lunchtime except Wednesday.

Soccer and Rugby October 2012

Soccer and Rugby

It has been a busy few weeks for both the boys’ and girls’ teams with matches for both.  The girls fared better with a convincing win against Bunclody Vocational College while the boys were unlucky against Wexford Vocational College having led for most of the game.

In rugby, the girls took part in of blitz at the home ground Towns Cup Champions, Enniscorthy.  This was a historic occasion and was a great thrill for the girls who narrowly lost in the final.  They returned proudly with medals – the first ever for rugby in our school.

Trad For Trocaire

The school took part in the nationwide Trocaire fundraiser recently.  Students and teachers presented a mini concert with music, dance and spoken word.  The concert was Irish music themed and it was a fun occasion with a surprising array of talent on display.

Cyberbullying is of great concern at present.  This can occur when using social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Bebo etc.  It can also occur in the form of abusive text messages. Parents are fearful that their sons/daughters are vulnerable in the social media environment.

Simple steps that both students and parents can take to protect themselves include

1. Strengthen your privacy settings

2. Never reveal contact details

3. Print out any abusive comments

4. Report to a responsible adult
