Shoebox Appeal

TY Students raise €400 for Temple Street Childrens Hospital.

Transition Year (TY) students pictured with a cheque for €400 for Temple Street Childrens Hospital. The TY students raised this money by hosting a “Trick or Treat” party and Bake sale. The TY group would like to thank all for the support and donations.

Equestrian Club

Congratulations to First Year student Laoise Doherty who won 3rd Place in the Secondary Schools Inter School Competion in Wexford Equestrian over the week end.

Laoise represented Colaiste Abbain in the 80cms Jumping. She also took place in the Derby. She had a speed of 48.2 seconds!

Information Evening 26th November

Colaiste Abbain are hosting an Information Evening for parents of 5th & 6th class students on Thursday 26th November 2015 @7.30pm.

We will discuss topics like:

  • Transition from Primary to Post primary
  • Subject Choice and Sampling of subjects
  • Modern Language selection
  • Application & Enrolment procedures
  • New school extension

Arising from your visit this evening I hope you get a sense of what Colaiste Abbain is about.

That sense is best summed up in our Mission Statement which states that:

Coláiste Abbáin endeavours to provide quality education for all students

in a caring, disciplined and respectful environment. We aim to prepare

students for life and responsible citizenship and motivate them

towards the achievement of their full potential.

Colaiste Abbain considers its place in the community and its relationship with parents to be very important. Parents are always welcome to visit the College and we view this partnership as very much contributing to our success as a College and to the reputation of Colaiste Abbain in the community.
