For many of us the sound of Christmas carols evokes memories of family traditions and symbolises the spirit of Christmas. This was very evident at the Coláiste Abbáin Parents Association Christmas Concert which took place on Monday, December 10th at 7.30pm in St Abbans Church Adamstown. Special guests on the night included Dermot Hynes, Darragh Doyle, Tomás Whelan, Orla Quirke and Senan Lillis. The New Ross and District Pipe band blew us away with their powerful rendition of ‘Come All Ye Faithful’ and ‘Highland Cathederal’. The Coláiste Abbáin school choir, band and trad group were fantastically prepared by Ms Quirke and Ms Power. The talent in the school community is overwhelming.

The grande finale ‘The Drummer Boy’ concluded a night of marvellous entertainment and festive cheer. Students in Coláiste Abbáin are currently preparing for their pantomime production ‘Cinderella’ which will be showcased on 23rd-25th January. The school community are very excited about this event following the success of last year’s production.
